Celebration Station: Homemade Valentine’s Day Decorations For Kids

Directions to make the Heart-tastic paper towel napkin holder:       

♥ Step One:   Cut a paper towel roll or toilet paper roll into a 2 inch piece.

♥ Step Two:   Cut a hot pink strip of paper about 6 inches long by 2 inches high.  Then, cover the cut piece of paper towel roll with the hot pink paper.  Double sided tape or transparent tape both work well to hold the colored paper in place.

♥ Step Three:   Cut out the hearts with a heart-shaped craft punch.  I used the McGill 2 inch Reach Punchline with a 1/4 inch heart cutout #MCG521100C. Visit the McGill website for product information.  (Heart shaped punches can also be purchased at local craft stores.)

♥ Step Four:  To create the black paper liner that goes inside the paper towel napkin holder: take a piece of black paper and cut it about 5 1/2 inches long by 2 1/2 inches high.  Then, fit this cut piece of paper inside the napkin holder and use transparent or double sided tape to hold it in place.

♥ Step Five:  Place a red paper dinner napkin inside a hot pink paper dinner napkin and slide them both into the covered paper towel roll.  Your Heart-tastic craft is now complete.

To add extra love, punch out a few handfuls of hearts using the heart punch.   Then, sprinkle the hearts on the tablecloth, gather the Cupids and let the celebration begin.
