All youneed is a paper towel roll and a few other supplies. Your guests will “gobble” upthis deliciously whimsical decoration. Hey, is that the Mayflower?
How To Make The Upcycled
Gobble-licious Napkin Holder:
Step One: Cut a paper towel roll or toilet paper roll into a 3 inch piece.
Step Two: Cut an orange strip of paper about 6 inches long by 3 inches high. Then, cover the cut piece of paper towel roll with the orange paper. Use clear double sided tape to hold the colored paper in place. This covered paper towel roll now becomes the turkey’s body.
Step Three: Download the colored template, found below, and cut out the turkey’s head and feathers from the template. Add extra pizzaz by placing self-adhesive 10 mm wiggle eyes over the existing eyes. Wiggle eyes can be purchased at your local craft store. (The template fits on a standard 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper.)
Step Four: Place two, one inch strips of double faced tape on the back side of the bottom of the turkey’s neck. Then place the bottom of the turkey’s neck about 1-1/2 inches down from the top of the covered paper towel roll.
Step Five: Cut out feather template; using double faced tape and regular tape, adhere the feathers to the base of the paper towel roll. To hold the feathers in place, add a piece of double faced tape at the top of the paper roll.
Step Six: To finish the look, place a yellow paper dinner napkin inside of a red paper dinner napkin and slide them both into the covered paper towel roll.
